A Senate Joint Resolution concerning

Evaluation of Mental Health Services in the
State of Maryland

FOR the purpose of developing a statistical data
processing system providing adequate program
analysis and evaluation of mental health programs.

WHEREAS, The evaluation of mental health programs
and services is of the utmost importance in terms of
program development, defining service priorities, wise
expenditure of State funds and meaningful treatment to
those in need; and

WHEREAS, The Mental Health Administration of the
Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is attempting,
with limited resources, to initiate an effective program
of evaluation of mental health services in the State; and

WHEREAS, An adequate data processing system and the
resultant data base is essential to the achievement of an
effective program of evaluation; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That
the Department of [[Health and Mental Hygiene be]] Budget
and Fiscal Planning is requested to develop, in
cooperation with the Department of [[the Budget]] Health
and Mental Hygiene, a statistical and data processing
system that would make possible adequate program analysis
and evaluation [[.]] of mental health programs; and be it

the Secretary of Budget and Fiscal Planning.
