       Jacques for himself and his heirs Doth hereby Covenant and
       Agree to and with the said Charles Carroll his heirs and Assigns
       that the said Lancelot Jacques and his Heirs the said two parcells
       of Land aforesaid and premises with their Appurtenances to him
       the said Charles Carroll his heirs and Assigns from and against
       him the said Lancelot Jacques and Against all persons Whatsoever
       Claiming the same or which Shall or may hereafter Claim the
       same from by or under him the said Lancelot Jacques only shall
       and will Warrant and forever Defend by these presents  In Witness
       Whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably
       set their Hands and Affixed their Seals the Day and Year
       first above Written
       Signed Sealed and Delivered
       in the presence of us                                       Lanc.t Jacques   seal
       (The word eight being first interlined
       between the sixth & seventh line)

          William Steuart

       On the Back of the Aforegoing Deed was thus Written viz.t

          Received on the Day and year first within written of and from the
       Within named Charles Carroll the sums of four hundred and
       twenty pounds two Shillings and Six pence Sterling and Twenty
       pounds Current Money of Pensilvania being the Consideration
       Money within Mentioned to be by him paid to me
       Witness
                   Reverdy Ghiselin      I say received by me
                   William Steuart                              Lanc.t Jacques
      
       On the twenty fifth day of October 1765 came the within named
       Lancelot Jacques before us the subscribers two of his Lordships
       Justices of the peace for Ann Arundel County and Acknowledged
       the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed
       and the Several pieces or parcells of Land thereby bargained
       and sold and every part ^and^ parcel of them and premisses with
       their Appurtenances to be the Right and Estate of the within
       named Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever according
       to the true Intent and meaning of the same writing
