Examined
             This Indenture made the twenty fifth Day of October
       in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and sixty five
       Between Lancelot Jacques of the City of Annapolis in the Province
       of Maryland Merchant of the one part and Charles Carroll Esquire
       of the City and province aforesaid of the other part Whereas the
       said Lancelot Jacques on the twenty fourth Day of April in
       the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and sixty four purchased
       of a certain John Gresham Sixty two Acres of Land more or Less being
       part of a Tract or Parcell of Land called Howards Inheritance as by
       the said Deed Enroll'd in Ann Arundel County Records in Liber
       B B N.o 3 folio 165 166 & 167 referrence being thereunto had may Appear
       And whereas the said Lancelot Jacques on the twenty Sixth day
       of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and
       Sixty five purchased of Samuel Howard two hundred and seventy
       eight Acres and one half Acre of Land being part of a Tract or Parcell
       of Land called Warners Neck or Chance or one of them which said
       two Tracts of Land were heretofore Resurveyed and Collectively called
       Howards Inheritance as by the said Deed Enrolled amongst Ann
       Arundel County Records in Liber B B N.o 3 folio 389 390 & 391
       Reference being thereunto had may Appear  And whereas John
       Brice Esquire to whom the last mentioned two hundred and seventy
       Eight Acres and one half Acre of Land were mortgaged by the said
       Samuel Howard did by his Deed bearing Date the second Day of
       September seventeen hundred and sixty five Release to the said
       Lancelot Jacques his heirs and Assigns for Ever the said last
       mentioned two hundred and seventy eight Acres and one half
       Acre of Land as by the said Deed Enrolled in Ann Arundel
       County Records Liber B B N.o 3 folio 430 431 & 432 Reference
       being thereunto had may Appear Now This Indenture
       Witnesseth that the said Lancelot Jacques for and in Consideration
       of the sum of four hundred and twenty pounds two
       Shillings and Six pence Sterling and twenty pound Current
       Money of Pensilvania to him in hand paid by the said
                                                                               Charles
