667. hand the day & Date aforesaid Witnesses Will.m Lux H Ridgely That on the Twenty first day of May One thousand seven hundred & Sixty five came Henry Dorsey party to the Within Deed and Acknowledged the within bargain'd Land & Premisses to be the Right title & Estate of the within named John Tayloe & Presby Thornton Esq.rs their Heirs & Assigns forever and at the same time came Elizabeth the Wife of the said Henry Dorsey and being Privately examined out of the hearing of her said Husband did freely and voluntarily Acknowledge her Right of Dower to the said Land and Premisses and the same to be the Right title and Estate of the said John Tayloe & Presby Thornton Esq.rs their Heirs and Assigns forever and made this Acknowledgement without being induced thereto by any Fears or Threats or ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure According to Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided Acknowledged before us two of his Lordships Justices for Ann arundel County NB The Words (her Right of Dower to) internlind between the Third & fourth Lines of the above Acknowledgement of Right of Dower The words also (and the same) as likewise the words (and made this acknowledgement without being induced thereto by any Fears or Threats of or ill usage by her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure) interlined between the fourth & fifth Lines of the Abovesaid Acknowledgement of Dower were interlined before the same was signed as Witness our Hands this 21.st of May 1765 Will.m Lux H Ridgely Received the 7 Octob.r 1765 of John Tayloe and Presby Thornton sixteen Shillings Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the Alienation Fine on the within Lands by virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General John Davidson Recorded 7.th October 1765 16 sides Ex.d This Indenture made this Ninth day of May in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty five Between Jonathan Willson of Frederick County in the province of Maryland Planter of the one part and William Willson of Charles County in the Province aforesaid Planter of the other part Witnesseth That the said Jonathan Willson for and in Consideration of the sum of Five Shillings Sterling in hand paid by the aforesaid William (Willson) |
