650. parties afs.d have hereto set their Hands and Affixed their Seals the day and Year first Abovewritten Sealed and Delivered Mathew Kemp seal in presence of Eph.m King seal Jos Collins John Murray seal John Swain On the Back of the Aforegoing Deed was thus Written Viz.t August 8.th 1765 Received of the Within named Ephraim King the Within Mentioned four Hundred Pounds being the Consideration Money within to be by him paid Me Test John Swain P me Mathew Kemp Sept.r 18.th 1765 Came before me one of the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietarys provincial Magistrates for the Province of Maryland the Within mentioned Mathew Kemp and acknowledged the within Instrument of Writing to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and Premisses with their appurtenances thereby bargained and Released to be the Estate of the Within Named Ephraim King his Heirs and Assigns for ever to and for the Uses Intents Purposes in the same Deed particularly specified agreeable to an Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided Geo Steuart Received the 19.th September 1765 of Ephraim King six shillings Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore being the alienation fine on the within Land and by virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq his said Lordships Agent and Receiver General 11 1/4 sides John Davidson Record 20.th Sept.r 1765 Exam.d This Indenture Tripartite made this twentieth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and sixty five Between Thomas Ellidge and Elizabeth his Wife William Yates and Ann his Wife (the said Elizabeth and Ann being the only Daughters and Heir at Law of John Thornbury deceased the Eldest Son of Rowland Thornbury deceased) and Francis Thornbury son and Heir at Law of John Thornbury deceased the son of the aforesaid Rowland Thornbury of the first part Thomas Cockey of Baltimore in Maryland of the second part and Samuel Norwood of the said County and Province of the third part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Ellidge and Elizabeth his Wife William Yates and Ann his Wife and Francis Thornbury for and in Consideration of the Sum of Three hundred and fifty pounds to them in Hand paid by the said Thomas Cockey the receipt whereof they do hereby acknowledge and therefrom acquit and discharge the said Thomas Cockey his Heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them by these presents Have and each of them Hath given granted bargained sold aliened released enfeoffed and confirmed And by these presents Do and each of them Doth give granted bargained sell alien release enfeoff and confirm unto him the said Thomas Cockey his Heirs and Assigns All that Tract or parcell of Land lying and being in Baltimore County called Selsed containing nine hundred acres with the Appurtenances except such parts thereof as are (now) |
