639 Charles County fs.t On the 17.th of August 1765 came before us the Subscriber Mess.rs John Barnes And Thomas How Ridgate the two Subscribing Witnesses to the Above And within Instrument of Writing And made Oath on the holy Evangelis of Almighty Good that they Saw Mary Holmes Sign seal and deliver the within Deed or Instrument of Writing And likewise Sign the Above Receipt Sworn the day and year Aforesaid before Jo H Harrison Recorded 18.th September 1765 Tho.s Contee 6 1/4 sides Exam.d This Indenture made this Ninth day of June in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and sixty four Between Mary Holmes of Newington Butts in the County of Surry in the Kingdom of England Widow of the one part and Benjamin Tasker Charles Carroll Charles Carroll Barrister at Law Daniel Dulany Walter Dulany of the City of Annapolis in the Province of Maryland Esquires and Charles Carroll the Younger of Prince Georges County in the same Province Esquire of the other part Whereas Amos Garrett late of the City of Annapolis deceased was in his lifetime and at the time of his decease seised of and entituled unto Sundry Tracts or parcells of Land in the Province of Maryland and that Mary Woodward and Elizabeth Gin late of the City of London in the Kingdom of England widows were the Surviving Sisters and Heirs at Law of the said Amos Garrett by reason whereof the said Tracts or parcells of Land decended unto and desolved upon the said Mary Woodward and Elizabeth Gin upon the death of the said Amos Garrett in undivided Moieties and among the said Tracts or parcells of Land were the Tracts or parcells of Land following (that is to say) The Land of Goshen and Cannons Delight scituate lying and being with their and each of their Appurtenances in Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland And Whereas after the decease of the said Amos Garrett the said Mary Woodward & Elizabeth Gin became seized in and of the aforesaid Tracts or parcells of Land and particularly of the Tracts or parcells of Land aforesaid that is to say the Land of Goshen and Cannons Delight and being so Seized departed this life but before their deaths made and executed respectively their Several last Wills and Tenements in due Form of Law being at the Time of the Execution thereof in due manner and rightfully seized of the Premisses And Whereas the said Mary Woodward in and by her said Last Will devised and gate unto a certain William Woodward now of City of Annapolis aforesaid and in the aforesaid Mary Holmes their Heirs and Assigns all her undivided Moiety of the said Tracts or parcells of Land among other Things upon the Trust and to the Intent and purposes that the said William Woodward and Mary Holmes or the Survivor of them or the Heirs of such Survivor Should as soon as conveniently might be join with the aforesaid Elizabeth Gin late of the said Lands or in case of her death that they The said William (Woodward) |
