61. said John Boog And therewith did Transmitt diverse Authentick Certificates and Proofs by the Minister and Elders of the said Parish of Falkirk By the Honourable Elizabeth Booge s Barbara Boog s James Robertson s (second Page) Jos Sword s Honourable Justices of Peace of the County of Sterling By the Magistrates of the Royal Burgh of Sterling By the Magistrates of the City of Glascoa By the Magistrates of the City of Edinburgh And by the Judges of the high Court of Admiralty for Scotland All bearing and proving his prop Inquity as Heir and nearest of Kin to the said deceasd John Boog But the said Doctor Gustavus Brown Neglected to return any Report to the said William Boog as to his progress in Regard to said Power of Attorney Like as the said William Boog having died a few years after leaving us the saids Barbara and Elizabeth Boogs and Anne Boog a third Daughter now deceased (who was married with Robert Chalmer Merchant in Leith in the County of Edinburgh aforesaid to whom she bore a son named Patrick now Existing) his Children all under Age The said affair was thereby suffered to be Dormant till about the Middle of March One thousand seven hundred and fifty Nine That We and our said Husbands and the said Anne Boog then unmarried did Transmit a Memorial there anent to M.r Walter Chalmers Parson of Westminster Church near Annapolis in Maryland Inclosed in a Letter from the said Robert Chalmers his Brother who at the request of said Letter did make some Inquiry into the Subjects and Estate which belonged to the said Deceast John Boog concerning which the Said M.r Walter Chalmers wrote a particular Answer to the said Robert Chalmers bearing date the Twenty fourth of September One Thousand Seven hundred and fifty Nine desireing a Power of Attorney in his favour to be Transmitted to him &c But the said Death of said M.r Walter Chalmers happening soon there after We the said Barbara and Elizabeth Boogs and our saids Husbands and the said Anne Boog and Robert Eliz Booge s Barbara Booge s James Robertson s (Third Page) Jas Sword s Robert Chalmers her Husband did in May one Thousand seven hundred and sixty Execute a Power of Attorney In favours of Alexander John Alexander Merchant in Boyd's hole in Virginia Impowering him to Negotiate the Affair and Business afd for |
