609 Ringgold by Way of Mortgage as af.d One hundred Acres more of the af.d Tract of Land called Hollands Lot next adjoining to the af.d one hundred acres and to be laid off by one parallel Line (or as nearly pairelel as it can be not to take the buildings now on the said Land) to the af.d Line that is described to lay off the first hundred Acres so as af.d mortgaged Now This Indenture Witnesseth that the said Samuel Budd & Milkah his Wife for and in Consideration of the Premisses and also for & in Consideration of the sum of five Pounds current Money of Maryland to them in hand paid by the said Thomas Ringgold the Receipt whereof the said Samuel and Milkah do hereby acknowledge have bargaind sold & conveyd aliend enfeoffed & confirmed and by these presents do bargain sell & convey alien enffeoffed and confirm unto the said Thomas Ringgold and to his Heirs & Assigns for ever all that one hundred Acres of Land part of the Tract of Land aforementiond which adjoins in manner af.d to the above Hundred Acres Mortgaged & conveyd before to the af.d Thomas Ringgold as aforesaid together with all Timber Trees Woods Fences and other Improvements on the said One hundred Acres of Land being or thereto in any wise Appurtaining and also the Reversion & Reversions Remainder & Remainders Rents and Services of the Premisses and all the Right Title Interest Property Claim & Demand whatsoever which the said Samuel & Milkah or either of them now hath or may or can claim both in Law & Equity off in and to the said hereby bargained one hundred Acres of Land and Premisses To have and to hold the said hereby bargaind & sold one hundred Acres of Land & Premisses with the Appurtenances unto the said Thomas Ringgold and to his Heirs and Assigns To the only proper use and behooffe of the said Thomas Ringgold and his heirs & Assigns forever, Provided nevertheless and tis the true Intent and meaning of these Presents that if the above Samuel Budd & Milkah his Wife or their Heirs or Assigns shall and will on or about before the first Day of June which shall be in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred & sixty Eight pay to the said Thomas Ringgold his heirs Executors or Administrators the af.d Sum of seven hundred and ninety two pounds ten Shillings current money with legal Interest thereon due from the Date hereof then this ^present^ Writing and every Thing therein containd to be void and of none Effect but if default shoud be made in the Payment of the said Sum of Money and Interest at the day aforesaid then it is hereby agreed & allowd that the said Thomas Ringgold or his heirs or assigns shall be vested with an absolute Fee in the said Land and they the said Samuel & Milkah do hereby allow bargain ^authorize^ & impower permit & suffer the said Thomas Ringgold his heirs Executors or Administrators to bargain and sell the same in Fee Simple at publick Vendue and the same convey to the highest bidder towards payment of the money af.d and the over pluss if any to be returned And the said Samuel & Milkah do hereby covenant jointly & severally to and with the said Thomas Ringgold his Executors Administrators & Assigns that they or one of them shall and will pay the money af.d and the Interest that shall be due on the day af.d and without further Delay and will pay the Interest annually In Witness whereof the parties to these presents have hereunto interchangeably set their hands & Seals the Day & Year first above written Signed seald and deliverd in presence of Samuel Budd Seal (the words [or as nearly parellel as it may be and [and the overpluss if any to be returnd] first Milcah Budd Seal interlined Jn.o Car.ll Hynson Tho.s Ringgold seal Richard Tilghman 5.th (Received) |
