       Power of Attorney and that he did also see the above Named
       Stephen West Sign his Name as Witness thereto

       Be it rememberd that on the 26.th August 1765 before me the
       Subscriber one of the Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland
       Personally appeard Thomas Gassoway one of the Persons appointed
       by the above power of Attorney and in Persuance thereof
       acknowledged the within and above Instrument of Writing
       to be the Act and Deed of the within named Samuel Preston
       Moore, Mordecai Moore, Thomas Moore & Charles Moore and the
       Lands and Premises therein mentioned to be the Right and
       Estate of the within Named James Dick his Heirs and Assigns
       according to the true Intent & meaning of the same Deed and
       the Act of Assembly in such Case made and provided

       Received the 26.th August 1765 of James Dick the sum of Eight Shillings
       and three pence farthing Sterling for the use of Lord Baltimore
       being the Alienation Fine on the within Land and by virtue of
       a Commission from Edward Lloyd his said Lordships Agent
       and receiver General

Ex.d      Know all Men by these Presents that Benjamin Ward
       of Ann Arundel County in the Province of Maryland Planter
       for a Valuable Consideration of the sum of Thirty ^six^ pounds
       Sterling to me in hand Paid by Samuel Ward the Receipt
       Whereof I doe hereby Acknowledged and thereof do Acquit and
       Discharge the said Samuel Ward his heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs and Assigns
       Have Bargained and Sold and by these Presents do Bargain and
       Sell unto the said Samuel Ward the Following thinks hereafter
       Mentioned (viz.t) one young Roan Mare and four Colts One
       other young Mare of the same Colour Thirteen Head of Cattle
       Nineteen Head of Sheep and Fifty head of hoggs all my Crop
       of Corn & Tobacco and all my Right Title and Interest in and to
       the same Which Said things herein Mentiond I do hereby
       Covenant and agree to Warrant and for ever Defend unto the said
       Samuel Ward his Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs and Assigns from and against
