       the Premises with the Appurtenances hereby disposed of & sold unto John Hammond
       & his Heirs & Assigns as af.d shall and will at their reasonable Instance
       & Request at any Time hereafter make & Execute  In witness Whereof he the s.d
       Philip hath hereunto sett his hand & seal the day and year first above written
       Signed Sealed and Delivered
       in the presence of us

                                        On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Written Viz.t

                         Received of John Hammond this 22.d day of July Dom 1765 the
       Consideration Money with Expressed to be paid being Twenty five Pounds
       Curr.t Money P.r me

       July 22.d 1765   Then Came before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships
       Justices of Ann Arundel County Court Philip Hammond Party to the
       within Deed and acknowledged the same to be his Act and Deed &
       the Parts or Parcells of Land with their Appurtenances herein mentioned
       to be sold by him to be the rightfull Estate and Property of the within
       named John Hammond his Heirs and Assigns for ever, according to the
       true Intent and meaning of the Within Deed and of the Act of Assembly
       in such Case made and provided, Acknowledged before

       I have received four pence half penny being the Alienation fine for the
       within Land for the Use of the Lord Baltimore

                      Dear Child (if I may presume to call you so) for I assure you with
       great truth that You & yours is & ever will be as dear to me as my own
       Notwithstanding the indiscreet Step I took but God knows & have suffered
       Enough for my fault      I have by the greatest Chance recceivd your
       favour of the 14.th of Sept.r 1765 by reason of your directing it for Fra.s Web
       instead of Glasse sure you never receivd mine dated feb.r y.e 16.th 1765 (in
       answer to your of sep.t y.e 10.th 1753) & given to the Care of M.r John Christian
       mer.t in Douglass Isle of man as you desired, but as I never got an
