582 the one part and Anthony Stewart Reverdy Ghiselin and William Steuart of the City aforesaid Gentleman of the other part Whereas the aforesaid Henry Wad is about to have this province and being possessed of a Lott of Ground and houses in Annapolis and also of a Tract of Land containing one hundred and thirty five Acres in Dorchester County and having also a parcell of European Goods all of which he the said Henry Ward is willing and desirous to dispose of doth propose to dispose of The same by way of Lottery which is to be drawn upon the following scheme " The scheme of the " Land Houses and Goods Lottery which will be drawn the first Day of January " next two prizes for the house and store value two hundred and fifty " pounds each five hundred pounds three Ditto for the Tracts of Land each " forty five pounds one hundred and thirty five pounds one hundred and " twenty five Ditto for Goods at forty Shillings each two hundred and fifty " pounds first drawn ten pounds last drawn five pounds one hundred and " thirty two Prises seven hundred and sixty eight blanks nine hundred " Ticketts at twenty Shillings each are nine hundred pounds And for the better management and direction of the same Lottery and for the sale of the Tickets Lancelot Jacques Anthony Steuart Thomas Richardson Richard Mackubin Charles Wallace William Steuart Reverdy Ghiselin & Collin Campbell are managers thereof and George Clarke and George Digges of the City of Annapolis Gentlemen are the Book keepers thereof have undertaken manage the same Lottery And Whereas it is necessary that those persons who shall become adventures by the purchase of Tickets in the said Lottery should be made secure in having the prises drawn against their Tickets by a conveyance of the Estate in the Lands aforesaid and delivery of their several and respective Lotts of European Goods And Whereas it is agreed by and between the said Henry Ward and the Managers aforesaid that he shall make over and convey the several Lands houses and Goods mentioned in the scheme of the Lottery aforesaid unto Anthony Stewart Reverdy Ghiselin and William Steuart in order and for the purpose that they may with all convenient speed after the drawing of the Lottery convey and make over by good and sufficient Deeds in Law the Lands and houses aforesaid to such of the Adventures who shall draw them as prises and shall also deliver ^all^ and every the Lotts of European Goods to the Adventurers drawing them as prises And Whereas the Lott and houses in the City of Annapolis aforesaid are Mortgaged to Daniel Wolstenholme Esquire for the sum of two hundred and four pounds Current Money and the Interest thereon payable in Dollars at seven shillings and six pence ^each^ and pistoles at twenty seven (Shillings) |
