Ex.d   This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of August in the
       Year Seventeen hundred and Sixty four Between Robert Couden of
       the City of Annapolis Merchant of the one Part and James Maccubbin
       of the City aforesaid Merchant of the other Part Whereas by Indenture
       duly Acknowledged and Recorded in the Land Records of this Province
       bearing date on or about the thirteenth day of September in the Year
       of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and Sixty two made or
       mentioned to be made between James Chalmers by the name of
       James Chalmers of the City of Annapolis Silver Smith of the one
       part and the af.d Robert Couden of the same City Merchant of the
       other Part the said James Chalmers did for the Consideration therein
       mentioned Grant Bargain Sell Alien enfeoff and Confirm unto the
       said Robert Couden his Heirs and Assigns all that Tract or Parcell
       of Land lying and being in Dorchester County in the Province of
       Maryland called Chalmers Chance Containing three hundred
       and forty two Acres and one half Acre or Land more or Less together
       with all and Singular the Premises and Appurtenances thereto
       belonging or in anywise Appurtaining and all the Estate Right
       Title Interest Property Claim and Demand whatsoever of him
       the said James Chalmers of in or to the said Tract or Parcell of
       Land To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcell of Land
       with all and Singular the Premises and Appurtenances
       thereunto belonging to him the said Robert Couden his Heirs &
       Assigns forever to his and their only Proper use and behooff
       and to ^and^ or for no other use intent or Purpose whatsoever under
       a Proviso or Condition   Nevertheless to be Void in Case the
       said James Chalmers should Pay or cause to be Paid unto the
