380 On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Written Viz.t Received the within sum of Five shillings on my own behalf and as Attorney for Mary Holmes within mentioned February the 10.th 1764 Test W.m Woodward John Levack Jo.s Richardson Jun.r Recorded the 4.th day of August 1764 6 sd Ex.d This Indenture made this eleventh day of February in the Year of our Lord in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and Sixty four Between William Woodward of the City of Annapolis Gentleman in his own Right and Mary Holmes of Newington Butts in the County of Surry in the Kingdom of England Widow by the said William Woodward her Attorney for that Purpose lawfully constituted and Appointed on the one Part and Benjamin Tasker Charles Carroll Charles Carroll Barrister at Law Daniel Dulany & Walter Dulany of the City of Annapolis Esquires & Charles Carroll the Younger of Prince Georges County Esquire on the other Part Whereas Amos Garrett late of the City of Annapolis Merchant Deceased was in his lifetime and at the Time of his Decease seised of and intituled unto Sundry Tracts or Parcells of Land in the Province of Maryland and that Mary Woodward & Elizabeth Gin late of the City of London in the Kingdom of Great Britain England Widow were the Surviving Sisters and Heirs at Law of Amos Garrett by reason whereof the said Tracts or Parcells descended unto and Devolved upon the said Mary Woodward & Elizabeth Gin upon the Death of his said Amos Garrett in undivided Moieties and among other the said Tracts or Parcells of Land were the Tracts or Parcells of Land following (that is to say) the Land of Goshen and Cannons Delight Scituate lying and (being) |
