31. Charles County Aprill the 6th 1763 This day came before us Two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for the County aforesaid Mary Courtes Wife to the within mentioned William Courts and Acknowledged the Right of Dower of the within Mentioned Land and Premisses to be the Right and title of the within mentioned Henry Smith Hawkins his Heirs and assigns for ever without any Fear or threat or ill usage of her said Husband John Winter & Rob.t Horner Charles County fs.t 7.th May 1763 Then received of the within mentioned Henry Smith Hawkins the sum of seven shillings & Eight Pence sterling as an Alienation fine for the within mentioned Land for the use of the Lord Baltimore & by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his Lordships Agent P Benjamin Fendall Recorded the 23.d day of July 1763 8 1/2 s.d Ex.d This Indenture made the Thirtieth day of April in the Year of our Lord Christ One thousand seven hundred and sixty three Between Beal Bordley of Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman and Elizabeth Bordley of the City of Annapolis in the Province aforesaid Gentleman Brother and Sister & Devisees of Thomas Bordley late of the Province aforesaid Gentleman Deceased which said Thomas Bordley was Eldest Son and heir at Law of Ariana Jenings formerly Ariana Bordley deceased which said Ariana was one of the Daughters and Parceners of Matthias Van der heyden late of Cecil County Gentleman deceased of the one part and John Brice of the City of Annapolis of the other part Witnesseth that the said Beal Bordley and Eliz.a Bordley for and in Consideration of the sum of Five shillings sterling money of Great Brittain to them in hand paid by the said John Brice the receipt whereof they the said Beal Bordley and Elizabeth Bordley do hereby acknowledge have granted bargained sold aliened Enffefed released and Confirmed and by these presents they the said Beal Bordley & Elizabeth Bordley do hereby grant bargain sell alien Enfeoff release and Confirm unto him the said John Brice his Heirs and Assigns all their undivided fourth part or portion of all the Lands whereof the said Mathias Vanderheyden dyed seized lying and being and being in Cecil County afd which have come to them by the Testament and last |
