186 The hearing of her said Husband did Acknowledge all her Right of Dower in the said Lands and Declared that she made the said Acknowledgment Truly and freely and Willingly without being Induced thereto by fears of Threats of the said Husband his Menaces or abuse Jn.o Mathews Benjamin Rogers 6 s.d Recorded the 10.th January 1764 Ex.d This Indenture made this Second day of December in the Year of our Lord seventeen hundred and sixty three Between Robert Bishop and Elizabeth Bishop his Wife Both of Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland of the one Part and John Beall Howard of the same County and Province of the other Part Witnesseth that the said Robert Bishop and Elizabeth his Wife for and in Consideration of the sum of One hundred Pounds Current Money of Maryland to them in hand paid by the said John Beal Howard at and before the Ensealing & and delivery of these presents The receipt Whereof the said Robert Bishop and Elizabeth his Wife doth hereby Acknowledge and therefrom and from every Part and parcel thereof doth Acquit and Discharge the said John Beal Howard his heirs and Assigns Hath Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Released and Confirmed and by these Presents and Clearly and Absolutely Grant Bargain sell alien Release & Confirm unto the said John Beal Howard (in his Actual Possession now being by Virtue of a Bargain and Sale to him thereof made for one whole Year bearing Date the day next before the day of the date of these Presents and by Force of the statute for Transferring Uses into Possession) and to his heirs and Assigns for ever all that Tract of Land Called Coxes Forest Lying and being in Ann Arundel County on the Rock Creek of the said County Originally Granted unto a Certain Christopher Cox Father of the above named Elizabeth Bishop For one Hundred and Ninety Nine Acres of Land more or less and also all the other Lands of the said Christopher Cox whereof he died Possessed in the province of Maryland or Elsewhere with the Rights Members and Appurtenances thereof And all houses Outhouses Buildings Orchards Guardens and Hereditaments to the said Messuages or Tenements belonging or in anyways Appertaining on which now or Formerly have been |
