Exam.d This Indenture made this twenty seventh day of May in the year of our Lord
       seventeen hundred and fifty six Between James Mackdowell of Cæcil County in the
       Province of Maryland planter son and Heir of William Mackdowell Deceased
       was the Devisee of John Mackdowell Late of Calvert County Deceased of the one
       Part and James Mackall of Calvert County in the same Province
       Gentleman of the other Part Whereas the aforesaid John Mackdowell by his
       Last Will Devised all that part or parcel of Land in Calvert County where
       he Lived to Mary Mackdowell for and During the Form ^Term^ of her natural
       Life and after her Decease to the aforesaid William Mackdowell and the heirs of his
       Lawfully begot and also in and by his said Last Will Devised to his Daughter
       Elizabeth Plattford that parcel of Land in Calvert County that Richard White
       Lived on during the Term of her Natural Life and afterwards to his Son the said
       William Mackdowell and the Heirs of his Body Lawfully begotten as by the
       aforesaid Will now in the prerogative office of this province of Maryland
       Reference being thereunto had may more fully appear And Whereas I the
       aforesaid Mary Mackdowell the Devisee aforesaid hath Departed this Life and
       the aforesaid William Mackdowell hath also Departed this Life and the
       aforesaid Elizabeth Plattford hath Likewise Departed this Life Whereby the
       Premisses aforesaid Descended to the aforesaid James Mackdowell as Heir of the
       aforesaid William Mackdowell And Whereas the aforesaid parcels of Land
       and Parcels of that Tract of Land Called Coles Clifts in Calvert County and it
       was effectually agreed by and between the Parties thereunto that the
       aforesaid James John Mackall should purchase or impetrate a Writ
       of Entry against the aforesaid James Mackdowell Tenant in Tail of the
       Premisses aforesaid to the end that a Recovery might be had in the
       usual Form for Docking and barring the Estate Tail aforesaid and that
       the uses of the said Recovery should be settled and Limited on and
       Declared to be to the said James ^John^ Mackall in Fee simple in Consideration
       of the sum of sixty five Pounds Current Money to the said James Mackdowell
       by the said James John Mackdowell ^Mackall^ in hand paid and Whereas
       in pursuance of the agreement such Recovery has been had as aforesaid as
       may appear from the Records of the Provincial ^Court^ of this Province Now
       This Indenture Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of the Premisses
       aforesaid ^and^ of the sum of sixty five Pounds Current Money
