88 Received this 8.th day of April 1757 of the within mentioned Charles Croxall the Sum of three hundred and thirty one pounds Ten Shillings Current Money in full Satisfaction for the within Bargained Lands & Premisses as Witness my hand John Cromwell Witnessed by Ruxton Gay April the 20.th 1757 Received of M.r Charles Croxall one Pound nine shillings and Eleven pence half penny sterling for his Lordships use (it being the alienation fine on the within mentioned Lands) by Virtue of a Commission from Edward Lloyd Esq.r his Lordships Agent and Receiver General Rich.d Dorsey On the Eighth day of April in the year of Lord one thousand Seven hundred and fifty Seven Came the within named John Cromwell before us the Subscribers two of his Lordships Justices of the Peace for Baltimore County and acknowledged the within Deed Instrument of Writing to be his Act & Deed and the three Tracts or Parcels of Land thereby Bargained & sold with their Premisses and Appurtenances to be the Right Tittle and Estate of the within mentioned Charles Croxall his Heirs and assigns for ever according to the true Intent & Meaning of the within Deed On the Same Day came Elizabeth the Wife of the Said John Cromwell who being by us examined out of her Husbands hearing Acknowledged all the ^Her^ right of Dower to the within Bargained Lands and Premisses to be the Right Tittle and Estate of the Said Charles Croxall his Heirs & assigns & declared she made such Acknowledgment of her own free and voluntary Will without being induced so to do by threats or Ill usuage from her Said Husband or through fear of his displeasure In Testimony whereof we have hereunto set our Hands 12 sides Ruxton Gay Duty paid Reverdy Ghiselin Clk Walt Tolley |
