173) To them in hand paid by the Said Thomas Brouster the Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged and for Divers other causes and Good Considerations them the Said George Maxwell and Elizabeth his Wife in this Behalf moving Have Granted Bargained and sold Released & Confirmed and by these presents Do Grant Bargain Sell Release & Confirm unto the Said Thomas Brouster (in his Actual Possession now being by Virtue of a Bargain and Sale thereof made) all those Several Tracts and Parcels of Land Situate Lying and being in Talbot County in the Province of Maryland called and known by the name of Harwoods Lyon and on the East Side of a River called Wye River and Heretofore Granted unto Thomas Harwood of London Mariner on the Twelfth Day of February Sixteen hundred Sixty and three Beginning at a Marked Oak Standing on a point over against the upper End of the Island bearing East from the said Island and Running for breadth South East up a Creek Called Harwoods Creek Two hundred Perches to a marked oak Standing at the Turning point of the Said Creek and with a Line drawn up the North East branch of the Said Creek three hundred and Twenty Perches to a marked oak Standing near the Line drawn North west Cross the Neck for Two hundred Perches to back Wye River to a marked oak and Running Down the said River Three hundred and twenty Perches to the first marked oak Containing and then laid out for four hundred Acres and afterwards by Patent of Confirmation bearing Date on the Eighteenth day of September in the year of our Lord Sixteen hundred Sixty and eight Confirmed (unto) |
