158) Enjoy all and Singular the Said Premisses above mentioned and may take and receive the Rents Issues and Profits thereof to his and their own proper use and Benefit any Thing herein contained to the contrary notwithstanding In Witness whereof the said Parties have interchangeably set their Hands and Seals the year and Day first above said Mem.d the words (part of in the third line) & the words (Deeds ^and^) in the tenth line where interlined before the sealing and Delivery of these Presents Signed Sealed and Delivered James Brooke Seal in the Presence of David Lynn Andrew Heugh On the back of the aforegoing Deed was thus indorst Viz.t Be it remembered That on the third Day of October Seventeen hundred and fifty Seven came the within named James Brooke before us the subscribers Two of his Lordships Justices of Frederick County and Acknowledged the within Deed to be his Act and Deed and the Lands and Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right of the within named Philip Thomas Junior his Heirs and assigns according to the True Intent and meaning thereof And at the same Time came Deborah the Wife of the Said James Brooke who being examined out of the hearing of her said Husband According to the Directions of an Act of assembly declared that she freely and voluntarily renounced her Right and claim of Dower in and to the said Lands and Premisses without being Seduced (thereto) |
