638 Estate of the within Named John Raitt his Executors Administrators and Assigns According to the true Intent and meaning of the within Deed and the Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided And at the same time Came Ann the Wife of the said Benjamin who being by me Privately Examined and out of the Hearing of her said Husband declared that she freely and Voluntarly Relinquished her Dower in the within demised Lott of Land and Premisses and that she was not induced thereto by Fear or threats of her said Husband or fear of his Displeasure Acknowledged before me this seventeenth day of December 1755 10 sides Geo Steuart Recorded Maryland fs.t This Indenture made this Twentieth day of January Exam.d in the Year of our Lord God seventeen hundred and fifty six Between John Forrest Davis of Frederick County Planter of the one Part and Thomas Davis of Ann Arundell County Planter of the Other Part Witnesseth that the said John Forrest Davis for and in Consideration fo the Sum of Ten Pounds Fifteen shillings Current Money of Maryland to him in hand paid at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these Presents by the said Thomas Davis the Receipt whereof he the said John Forrest Davis doth hereby Acknowledge and himself therewith fully Satisfied and paid and thereof and of every part and parcell thereof doth Clearly Acquitt Exonerate and Discharge the said Thomas Davis his Heirs and Assigns a Tract of Land forever hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Aliened and Confirmed and by these Presents do fully Clearly and Absolutely Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Enfeoff and Confirm unto the said Thomas Davis his Heirs and Assigns a Tract of Land Called Called Charles and John Choice lying in Frederick County Near Senica Beginning at two bounded Black Oaks standing at the ^head^ of a Mash a Draught of the Whetstone Branch which being a Draught of Senica Creek Running thence North Eighty five degrees East thirty Eight Perches then South twenty two degrees East one Hundred Perches then South forty five degrees West sixty Eight Perches then North Twenty degrees West forty Perches then North fifty degrees West fifty four Perches then by a straight line to the Beginning Tree Containing and laid out for Fifty Acres of Land more or Less with all and Singular the Premisses and Appurtenances thereunto Belonging To have and to hold the aforesaid Fifty Acres of Land and Every Part or Parcell thereof Together with all and Singular the Premisses and Appurtenances thereunto belonging unto him the said Thomas Davis his heirs and assigns unto the only Proper Use and Behoofe of the said Thomas Davis his heirs and Assigns forever and the said John Forrest Davis and his the said Fifty Acres of Land and every Part and Parcell thereof unto the said Thomas Davis and his heirs in Manner and form aforesaid Conveyed against him the said Forrest Davis and against all and every (Person) |
