633 November the 12.th 1755 Came before me the subscriber one of his Lordships Provincial Majestrates the within Named John Hammond and Ann his Wife and Acknowledged the within Instrument and the Land and Premisses therein Contained to be the Right of the within Named Henry Gaither his heirs and Assigns for Ever Geo Steuart 5 sides Recorded Nov.r 12.th 1755 Maryland Ann.ll County fs To all Christian People to whom these Presents shall come We John Hammond son of Thomas John Hammond of the County aforesaid and Anne his Wife send Greeting Know Ye that the said John Hammond and Anne his Wife as well for and in Consideration of the Natural Affection and Brotherly Love which we have unto our well Beloved Brother in Law Edward Gaither of Frederick County Planter and for and in Consideration of the Sum of Five Shillings as also for Divers good Causes and Considerations us thereunto moving Hath Given and Granted and by these Presents do freely Give and Grant unto the said Edward Gaither his Heirs and Assigns All that Parcell of Land lying in Frederick County aforesaid near little Pihip Creek and Linganoak Beginning at a bounded white oak being the Original Beginning tree of a Tract of Land called Gaithers Chance taken up by Benjamin Gaither standing on a Branch called the Beaver Dam Branch and Running thence North Eighty one degrees East one hundred and sixty five perches then East eighteen Perches then South Forty degrees East thirty Perches then a Cross the said Tract North forty five and a half degrees East one Hundred and fifty one Perches then North sixty Degrees West Thirty Perches then South fifty degrees West eighteen Perches then North two Degrees West Forty Eight Perches then North eighty one degrees West ninty Perches then West Twenty Perches then North fifty seven degrees West ninty Perches then South thirty two degrees West ninty two Perches then North seventy five degrees West forty Perches then North seventeen degrees West sixty Perches then North fourteen degrees East Twenty Perches then North thirty degrees East forty six Perches then North Eighteen Degrees East one hundred and thirty four Perches then North Eighty Degrees East twelve Perches then North Thirty one degrees West sixty four Perches then South forty degrees West one hundred and forty Perches then South sixty Eight Perches then South fifty degrees West thirty Perches then South Ten degrees East three hundred and sixty Perches then by a Straight line to the first Beginning Tree Now laid out and Surveyed for Four Hundred Acres of Land more or less To have and to hold all and Singular the said Premisses with the Appurtenances unto the said Edward Gaither his Heirs and Assigns forever and all the Estate Rights Titles Interest Property Claim and Demand (of and in the said Premisses) of us the said John Hammond and Anne his Wife have hereunto Interchangeably set our Hands and Seals this 12.th day of November in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and fifty five Sign'd Sealed and delivered John Hammond son of Thomas John seal in Presence of us Cornelius Howard Ann Hammond his Thomas T Medcalf Mark Henry Gaither |
