537) Ex.d This Indenture Made the Twelfth day of March in the twenty seventh Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the Year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty four Between James Johnson of the City of Glasgow in North Britain Merch.t Now Residing in London of the one part and Walter Ewer and John Ewer of Love Lane London Merchants and Partners of the other part Whereas the Said James Johnson is Justly indebted unto the said Walter and John Ewer in the Sum of Two Thousand six hundred and four pounds Lawfull Money of Great Britain for Divers Sums of Money really and bona advanced by them the said Walter and John Ewer to ^or^ for the said James Johnson at or before the Execution of these presents Now this Indenture Witnesseth that in order for the better and more Effectual Securing and Satisfieing the said Sum of Two Thousand Six hundred and four pounds so due and owing by the said James Johnson to them the said Walter Ewer and John Ewer as af.d and for and in Consideration of the sum of Five shillings to the said James Johnson in hand paid by the Walter and John Ewer at or before the Ensealing and Delivery of these presents (the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged) He the said James Johnson Hath Granted Bargained Sold Remised Released enfeoffed & Confirmed and by these presents Doth Grant Bargain Sell Remise Release enfeoffe ^and^ confirm unto the said Walter Ewer and John Ewer and their Heirs All that undivided fourth part or share of him the said James Johnson (the whole into four parts to be divided) of and in all those Severall Tracts or parcells of Lands Hereditaments and premisses Scituate Lying and being in Baltimore County in the province of Maryland in America formerly Purchased by Alexander Lawson James Russell and James Wardrop of Maryland af.d Merchants and by the said James Johnson of and from Dan.l Dulany late of Maryland af.d Merchant and of other Persons there and now held by them the said Alexander Lawson James Russell James Wardrop and James Johnson in undivided fourth parts as Tenants in Common and also of and in all that Several Mines Oar and Works in upon or belonging to the Said Lands and Hereditaments or some part or parcell thereof and Commonly called or known by the Name of the Nothingham Ironworks together with all Houses and Tenements Erections Buildings Cattle Forges Oar Goods Utensils Implements live and Dead Stock and Negroes or other things whatsoever belonging to the said Lands (And) |
