534) or Clerk or other proper officer for the Inrollment of Deeds in Baltimore County or Else where in the province of Maryland and then and there for me and in my Name place and Stead to produce the Deeds hereunto Annexed bearing date Respectively the Eleventh and twelfth days of March in the twenty seventh year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great Britain and so forth and in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and fifty four and made or mentioned to be made Between me the said James Johnson of the one part and Walter Ewer and John Ewer of Love lane London Merchants and partners of the other part Purporting to be a Mortgage by Lease and Release from me to them of an undivided fourth part of Certain Lands Hereditaments and premisses in Baltimore County af.d formerly purchas.d by Alexander Lawson James Russell James Wardrop and me the said James Johnson of and from Daniel Dulany and others and held by us in undivided fourths and also of all Mines Oar and Works in and upon the s.d Lands called the Nothingam Ironworks together with all Houses Erections Cattle Forges Oar Goods live and Dead Stock Negroes and Other Things belonging to the said Lands and Works with the appurtenances To hold to the said Walter and John Ewer their Heirs and Assigns Subject to a proviso for Redemption or payment of two Thousand six hundred and four pounds of Lawful Money of Great Britain with lawful Interest upon the twelfth day of June then and Now next Ensuing as therein mentioned and where^there^upon for me & in my name place and Stead to Acknowledge the Name James Johnson thereto Subscribed and the Seal thereto affixed to be my hand and seal and that the said Deed was duly Executed by me & that I desire the same to be duly Inrolled in any Court or place of Record according to the Method of Inrollment of Deeds in the said Province as fully and Effectually to all Intents and purposes as If I the said James Johnson were personally present and did Acknowledge and Desire the Same And I do hereby Ratifie and Confirm all and whatsoever my said Attorney Shall lawfully do in the premisses In Witness whereof I the said James Johnson have hereunto set my hand and Seal this twenty sixth day of March in the twenty seventh Year of the Reign of Our Sovereign Lord George the Second King of Great Britain and so forth and in the year of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty four Sealed & Delivered (being first James Johnson Seal duly stamped) in the presence of James Wardrop on the Back of the aforegoing Deed was John Campbell thus Endorsed Viz.t Charlton Palmer Maryland 10.th March 1755 Then Came me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of his Provincial Court James Wardrop and John Campbell two of the Witnesses ^to^ of the within power of Attorney and made Oath on the Holy Evangelist of almighty God that they saw James Johnson the person Subscribing the within power of Attorney Sign Seal and Deliver the same as his Act and Deed and that they also saw Charlton Palmer the other Witness (Subscribe) |
