                                        Then Came before Us the Subscribers two of his Lordships
       Justices of Annarundell County the within Named Thomas Hutchcraft and
       Acknowledged the within Deed as his Act and Deed and the Land and premisses
       therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of the within Named Richard Snowden
       his heirs and assigns for Ever according to the true Intent and meaning
       thereof and the act of assembly in that case made and provided

Ex.d         I hereby Certifie that on the thirty first day of March Anno Dom 1755
       Came before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial
       Court Thomas Johnson jun Clerk of the Western Shore Assize Courts and took
       the following Oath (Viz.t)

                 You Thomas Johnson do swear that you will not for Lucre or Malice
       delay any Person or Persons applying to you for any Business belonging
       to the office you officiate in and that you will not directly or indirectly ask
       Demand take or Receive from or Charge to any Such Person or Persons to your
       own use (Except your Sallary from your Principal) any fee or Reward whatsoever
       for any Service you shall do as Clerk of the said Office and also that in Making
       out the office fees you will not wittily ^wittingly^ or willingly charge other or higher fees
       than limitted by the Act Entituled an Act for Amending the Staple of Tobacco
       for preventing Frauds in his Majesties Customs and for the Limitation of Officers
       fees

Ex.d Know all men by these Presents that I James Johnson
       of the City of Glasgow in North Britain Merchant residing in London have
       ordained Constituted and Appointed And by these presents do ^make^ ordain
       constitute and appoint James Johnson of Annapolis in the province of Maryland
       Merchant my true and Lawful Attorney for me and in my Name at
       any time hereafter to appear before any Judge Justices of the peace Magistrate
