       at and before the time of their becoming Bankrupts in trade to the
       amount and Value of Two thousand Pounds afores.d And Whereas the
       said Joseph Belt hath by repeated Losses and Accidents in Trade now become
       incapable of making Present Payment and full satisfaction
       for the Debt afores.d Therefore hath and doth by these Presents for himself
       his Heirs Exe.rs and Administrators Covenant Compromise and Agree to
       and with Brian Philpot Junior of Baltimore County & Province afores.d
       Merchant Attorney in fact Legally authorized by for and on the Behalf of
       the afores.d William Torver Bartholomew Pomeroy and Joseph Janson
       Assignees of the aforesaid John Philpot & John Hutchinson in Manner
       and form following to wit That if the said Joseph Belt his Heirs or
       Assigns do well and truly pay or Cause to be paid to the said Torver Pomeroy
       & Janson their Heirs or Assigns or unto the Lawfull Attorney in fact of the
       Assignees of the said Philpot and Hutchinson for the time being the just &
       full sum of Four hundred Pounds in Good Bills of Exchange or Cash at or
       before the twenty fifth day of October next ensueing the Date hereof and
       also the Sum of Two hundred Pounds Yearly thereafter with Legal Interest
       untill the Debt and Interest be fully paid and satisfyed that then the said
       Joseph Belt his Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs & Assignes shall be for ever fully & clearly
       discharged therefrom and the Present Indenture shall then become utterly
       Void & of no Effect in Law and all the before bargained Premisses shall be
       and remain and Continue in the Peaceable Right Title and Possession
       of him the said Joseph Belt his Heirs and Assignes as fully & amply
       to all Intents and Purposes as if this Deed of Payment and Security
       had not been made or done and for the True Performance thereof the
       said Joseph Belt Junior and the afores.d Brian Philpot Junior hath hereunto
       interchangeably set their Hands & Seals the Day & Year first above

       Received of Mess.rs William Torver Bartholomew Pomeroy and Joseph
       Janson Assignees of Mess.rs John Philpot and John Hutchinson of London
       by the Hands of M.r Brian Philpot Junior their Attorney in fact the Sum
       of Two thousand Pounds Sterling in full Consideration for the within
       mentioned Bargained Premisses Witness my hand this 27 June 1754

       On the 27 June 1754 Joseph Belt Jun.r Party to the within Deed acknowledged
       every Part and Parcell thereof to be his Act and Deed according to
       Law   Taken and acknowledged before me one of his Lordships Justices
       of the Provincial Court of Maryland

Ex.d This Indenture made on the twenty Seventh day of July in the Year
       of Our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and fifty four Between Hugh
       Conn of Prince Georges County Planter of the one part and Thomas
       Wilcoxon of Prince Georges County Planter of the other Part Whereas
       the said Thomas Wilcoxon did in May Term last Past before the Date
       hereof upon a Writ of Entry Sur Disseisin en le post recover by Common
       Recovery against the said Hugh Conn One hundred Acres of Plantable
       Land lying and being on the North side of Rock Creek in Frederick County
       being Part of a Tract of Land Called Joseph Park Devised unto him
       by the last Will and Testament of Hugh Conn his late Father
