463 The said John Chalmers had Granted unto him the Tenth Day of August One Thousand Seven Hundred Forty and Four One Tract of Land Called Bear Den Containing One Hundred Acres of Land now in Frederick County which then afterwards he the said John Resurveyed And Assigned the Certificate thereof to the said Charles for which the said Charles hath paid and satisfyed unto him the said John the Sum of One Hundred and Twenty Pounds Current Money Now for the further and better securing unto him the Said Charles the said Original Tract Called Bear Den One Hundred Acres Granted him As aforesaid He the said John Chalmers for and in Consideration of the ^said^ Sum of One Hundred and Twenty Pounds Doth by these presents Give Grant Bargain Sell Alien Release make over and Confirm unto him the said Charles Carroll All his Estate Right Title Interest Claim and Demand of in or to the said One Hundred Acres of Land Called Bear Den Scituate Lying and being in Frederick County as aforesaid Together with all Proffits and Advantages or thereto in any wise belonging or Appertaining To have and to hold unto him the said Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns for ever And the said John Chalmers doth for himself and his Heirs Covenant and Agree that he the said Charles his Heirs and Assigns for ever shall and may quietly and peaceably Have hold and Enjoy the Said Land Called Bear Den as well against him the said John Chalmers As Against all manner of Persons or Claims whatsoever In Witness whereof the said partys to these presents have Interchangeably sett their Hands & Seals the day and Year first above written John Chalmers seal Signed Sealed & Delivered in the presence of Tho Williamson Daniel Bennett On the Back of the foregoing Deed was thus Endorsed viz.t April 30.th 1754 Then Received of Charles Carroll one Hundred and Twenty Pounds Being the Consideration Money within Mentioned I say Reced by me John Chalmers Witness Tho.s Williamson Daniel Bennett Aprill 30.th 1754 Then Came before George Steuart Esq.r One of the Justices of the Provincial Court of Maryland One of the Parties to the Within Deed And Acknowledged the same according to Law And the Land and premisses therein |
