       Received of Philip Thomas the Sum of five Shillings Sterling Money of Great Britain
       being the Consideration Money within mentioned

       Memorandum On the thirtieth day of April Anno Dom Seventeen hundred and fifty two
       Came the within Named William Thornton and Acknowledged the within Deed and the Lands
       and Premises therein mentioned to be the Right of the within named Philip Thomas his
       Heirs and Assigns for ever according to the directions of an Act of Assembly in that Case
       made and Provided                                 Before me

Ex.d This Indenture made the thirtieth day of April One Thousand Seven hundred and
       fifty two Between William Thornton of the City of Annapolis Gentl of the one part and Philip
       Thomas of the Province and County aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth That the said William
       Thornton for and in Consideration of the Sum of Two hundred and forty Pounds Sterling Money
       of Great Britain to him in hand paid by the said Philip Thomas the receipt whereof the said
       William Thornton doth hereby Confess and Acknowledge and for divers other good Causes and
       Considerations him thereunto moving he the said William Thornton Hath Granted Bargained &
       Sold Aliened Released and Confirmed and by these Presents Doth fully freely and Absolutely
       Grant Bargain and Sell Alien Release and Confirm unto the said Philip Thomas in his
       Actual Possession now being by Virtue of a Bargain and Sale to him thereof made for one
       Year by Indenture bearing date the day next before the day of the date of these Presents and
       by force of the Statute for Transferring of Uses into Possession and to his Heirs and Assigns
       for ever All that part of a Tract or Parcel of Land Scituate and lying in Baltimore County
       in the Province afores.d being part of a Tract of Land called Clegates Forrest containing
       according to the Certificate of Resurvey thereof Thirteen hundred and Seven Acres Also one
       other Tract or Parcel of Land Scituate and lying in the said County called Bonds Gratuity
       Containing four hundred Acres Also fifty Acres of Land lying in Calvert County in the
       Province af.d being part of a Tract of Land called Sanctley with the Rights Members
       and Appurtenances thereof and all Houses Edifices Buildings and Improvements Profits
       Commodities Advantages Emoluments and Hereditaments whatsoever to the said Lands
       and Premisses belonging or in any wise appertaining And also the Reversion and
       Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents and Services of all and Singular the
       said Premisses abovementioned and of every part and parcel thereof with the
       Appurtenances And also all the Estate Right Title Interest Claim and Demand
       whatsoever as well in Equity as in Law of him the said William Thornton of in
