209) Be it Remembered that on the fifth day of Oct.r Anno Dom 1751 the within named William Howard and Thomas Sparrow Acknowledged the within Deed or Instrument of Writing to be their Act and Deed to and for the Purposes therein mentioned before Recorded Oct.r 5.th 1751 Jn.o Brice 7 Ex.d This Indenture made the Seventh Day of October in the Year of our Lord God one thousand seven Hundred and fifty one Between Thomas Hammond of Queen Annes County in the Province of Maryland Planter of the one part and David Register of the same County and Province Black Smith of the other part Witnesseth that the said Thomas Hammond for and in Consideration of the Sum of Sixty five Pounds Current Money in hand paid by the said David Register unto the said Thomas Hammond the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledge and for other good Causes and Considerations him the said Thomas Hammond thereunto moving Hath and Doth by these Presents Bargain Sell Grant Allienate and Confirme unto unto the said David Register his Heirs and Assigns for ever all that Parcel of Land called Brigsby that the said Thomas Hammond bought of George Lewis being in Queen Annes County on the South side of Coursica Creek Beginning at the first Bounded Tree of the Original Survey and running up the said Creek East North East binding with the said Creek to Esquire Bennetts Land part of the same Original survey formerly belonging to John Lewis then with the said Land by a line drawn South to that part of the said Land which was Sold by George Lewis to Coll.o Richard Tilghman for seventy five Acres and with the said Tilghmans Land by a line drawn West South West untill it Intersects a South line drawn from boug's Branch being the Westermost Bounds of the Original Survey then North binding with the said line until it Intersects a Cove or Branch of the said Creek called Boug's branch then binding with the said Branch and Creek to the first Tree and being thus Circumscribed contains Sixty Acres of Land more or less which whole Tract of Land whereof the Land sold by this Deed is ^a^ part was Originally Granted to John Bo^u^gue for three hundred and fifty Acres and by the said Bougue Sold unto William Burges who having Obtained a Patent of Confirmation for the said Land he the said William Burgess by Conveyance and Assignment on the Patent made over and Sold the said Land to Thomas and John Lewis their Heirs & Assigns forever which Tract of Land being divided between the ^said^ two Brothers Thomas & John Lewis the above Bargained Land & Premisses was part of the Lott or part of the abovesaid Thomas Lewis is share of the said Land who by his last will gave all his part of the said Land to his son Thomas Lewis and his Heirs forever and the said Thomas Lewis Dying Intestate the said Land became the Right of his oldist Son George Lewis and his Heirs and the said George Lewis by Deeds of Sale Conveyed and made over all the above mentioned Parcel of Land according to the Bounds abovesaid unto the said Thomas Hammond his Heirs and Assigns To have and to hold the said Tract or Parcel of Land according to the Bounds above mentioned with all the Rights Previledges and Appurtenances thereunto belonging unto the said David Register his Heirs and Assigns for ever and the said Thomas Hammond doth Covenant to and with the said (David) |
