144) Deed deliver the within Instrument of Writing to and for the several Uses Intents and Purposes therein mentioned And this Deponant further makes Oath that he saw Benjamin Tasker Jun.r Esq.r and Dennis Dulany the other Subscribing Witnesses Severally subscribe their Names as Witnesses thereto in the Presence of this Deponant Geo Steuart July the 1.st 1751 Received of M.r Ignatius Digges five Shillings Sterling in Lieu of a Barrell of Corn the Alienation fine on the Lands Called his Lordships Kindness and two pounds eighteen Shillings Sterling for the Alienation fine on the Lands called Several Tracts for the Use of the Right Honourable the Lord Baltimore By Virtue of a Commission from Benjamin Tasker Esq.r his Lordships Agent and Receiver General Rich.d Dorsey 4 Recorded July 1.st 1751 Ex.d This Indenture made the Second Day of June in the Year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and fifty one Between Ignatius Digges of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman of the one part and Benedict Calvert of the City of Annapolis and Province af.d Esquire of the other part Witnesseth That the said Ignatius Digges for and in Consideration of the Sum of five Shillings Sterling to him in hand paid by the said Benedict Calvert at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged Hath Bargained and Sold and by these Presents Doth Bargain and Sell unto him the said Benedict Calvert his Executors Administrators and Assigns All that Plantation or Tract of Land commonly called his Lordships Kindness Containing by Estimation Six Thousand and Seven hundred Acres of Land be the same more or less ^and also^ All that other Plantation or Tract of Land called and known by the Name of the Several Tracts Containing by Estimation two Thousand and five hundred Acres be the same more or less all which Premisses are scituate and being in Prince Georges County on a certain River called Patuxen in the Proprietory of Maryland on the Continent of Maryland and are part of certain Land and Premisses Released and Conveyed by Henry Darnall late of Prince Georges County in Maryland afd to John Hyde deceased the Father of a certain Samuel Hyde late of London Merchant deceased and the Reversion and Reversions Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues and Profits thereof and of every part and parcel thereof with their and each and every of their Rights Members & Appurtenances To have and to hold the said two Tracts or Parcels of Land and Premisses with their and each and every of their Rights Members and Appurtenances unto him the said Benedict Calvert his Executors Administrators and Assigns from the day next before the date of these Presents for and during and unto the full end and Term of one whole year from thence next ensuing and fully to be Compleat and ended to the Intent and Purpose that (by force and Virtue of these Presents and of the Statute for Transferring Uses into Possession) the said Benedict Calvert may be in the Actual Possession of the Premisses and thereby be enabled to take and (Accept) |
