65) (on) the other part Witnesseth that ^whereas^ the said John Gray did by his Power of Attorney bearing Date the twenty second Day of December one thousand seven hundred and forty Impower Constitute and appoint Christopher Gist of Baltimore County Merchant his lawfull attorney to sell & Dispose of all or any Lands Tenements or appurtenances to him the said John Gray belonging or appurtaining in the said Province of Maryland in Pursuance of which Power the said Christopher Gist by his Deed of Bargain & Sale bearing Date the 30.th Day of April one Thousand Seven hundred forty & five did Convey & make over unto Charles Carroll af.d all that part of a Tract of Land called Buck Range in Baltimore County af.d Devised by John Faning of Charles County unto Elizabeth & Mary Faning his two Daughters for the Consideration of Seventy Pounds Current money of the Colony of Virginia to him in hand paid and Secured to be paid for the use of the said John Gray party to these presents with Covenants for the better & more sure makeing over the said Bargained Premisses that he the said John Gray should Convey & make over the said Land & premisses unto him the said Charles Carroll his heirs & assigns for ever Now this Indenture further Witnesseth that whereas John Faning of Charles County Deceased by his last will & Testament bearing Date the 9.th Day of December 1624 did among other things give & Devise unto Eliz.a & Mary Faning his two Daughters the residue & remainder of a Tract of Land therein called by the name Lyeing Den Scituate & being in Baltimore County as granted to him the said John Faning containing seven (hundred) |
