       On the Back of the aforegoing Deed was thus Endorst
       Viz.t

       Received of Charles Carroll the sum of seventy pounds
       Current money of the Colony of Virginia being the
       Consideration within mentioned I say rec.d P me
       April the 30.th 1745                     Christ Gist
                                          Witness     Elea.r Williamson
             April the 30.th 1745               Geor Chalmers

       Then came before me the within mentioned Christopher
       Gist and acknowledged the within Deed according to the
       ^Directions of an^ Act of Assembly in that Case made and Provided
       and as attorney on Fact legally authorized by John
       Gray of the Colony of Virginia before me one of
       the Prov.l Justices of Maryland
