62) Ex.d This Indenture made by and between Christopher Gist of Baltimore County in the Province of Maryland Merchant on the one part and Charles Carroll of Annapolis on the other part Witnesseth that whereas John Gray of Prince Williams County in the Colony of Virgenia Planter Heir at Law of a certain Elizabeth Fanning of Charles County Deceas'd by his Power of Attorney bearing Date the 22.th Day of December 1740 did constitute and appoint the said Christopher his Lawfull attorney to Sell and Dispose of any Lands or Tennements appurtaining to him the said John in the said Province and whereas the s.d Elizabeth Fanning Grandmother of said John Gray was Intituled to part of a Tract of Land in Baltimore County called Buck Range by the will of her Father John Fanning of said County of Charles & the Death of her Sister and Joint Devisee Mary Fanning non this Indenture Further Witnesseth that the said Christopher Gist for and in Consideration of the Sum of Seventy Pounds Current money of the Colony of Virgenia to him in hand paid and Satisfied to & for the use of the said John Gray by the said Charles Carroll hath by Virtue of the Power af.d Bargained Sold Aliened Enffeoffed and Confirmed & by these presents doth absolutely give grant Bargain Sell alien Enfeoff & Confirm unto him the said Charles Carroll all & Singular that part of the said Tract of Land called Buck Range Scituate and being in Baltimore County (in) |
