       On the Back of the aforegoing Mortgage was thus Endorsed Viz.t
       April the 8.th 1749 Then was the within Deed acknowledged according to
       Act of Assembly by M.r Samuel Harrison before me

Ex.d This Indenture made the thirty first Day of March in the
       Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and forty Nine
       Between Thomas Knighton of Ann Arundel County Planter of the
       one Part and Thomas Sparrow of the same County Planter of the
       other Part Whereas Mary Knighton late of Ann Arundel County
       Deceased Sole Daughter and Heiress of James Ellis late of Ann
       Arundel County Deceased did by her Deed in Writing bearing date
       the thirteenth Day of June in the Year of our Lord One Thousand
       seven Hundred and thirty three for and in Consideration of the
       Natural Love and Affection which she bore unto her well Beloved Sons
       Samuel Lockwood and Thomas Knighton and her well Beloved
       Grand Sons Samuel Brown ^the^ son of James and Cassandra Brow and
       Thomas Sparrow the Son of Solomon and Charity Sparrow Give Grant
       and Confirm to the said Samuel Lockwood Thomas Knighton Samuel
       Brown and Thomas Sparrow and their Several and Respective
       Heirs for Ever a Tract of Land called James's Park lying in Baltimore
       upon a Branch of Gunpowder River and on the North side of the
       South Branch of the said River Granted to the said James Ellis
       Father of the said Mary Knighton by Patent Dated the tenth day
       of May One Thousand six Hundred and Eighty five for five
       hundred Acres of Land more or less which said Tract or Parcell of
       land was by the said Deed to be divided Between the said Samuel
       Lockwood Thomas Knighton Samuel Brown and Thomas Sparrow
