       two Shillings Ster an Alienation fine on the within Land I say

Ex.d      This Indenture made this Twenty Eighth Day of
       February in the year of our Lord Christ one Thousand Seven
       hundred & forty four Between Nathaniel Wright of the City of
       Philadelphia Joyner Eldest Son of Solomon Wright late of
       Queen Anns County in the Province of Maryland & Elizabeth
       his Wife both Deceased which said Elizabeth was one of the
       Daughters & Devisees of John King late of Talbot County Deced
       of the one part & Thomas Wilkinson of Queen Anns County in the
       same Province Gentleman of the other part Witnesseth that the
       same Nathaniel for & in Consideration of the Sum of five
       Shillings Current money of Maryland af.d to him in hand
       paid by the af.d Thomas the Receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged
       moveing hath granted Bargained & Sold & by these presents
       doth grant bargain & Sell unto the Same Thomas Wilkinson
       & his assigns one undivided Moeity or half part of that Tract
       or parcell of Land with the appurtenances thereunto belonging
       called Howards Gift ^lying^ Scituate & being formerly in Cecil County
       but now in Kent County in the Province af.d beginning at a
       marked poplar Tree standing on the South Side of a Branch
       called Poplar Branch being the Northermost bounds of a Tract
       of Land taken up for Elias King & W.m Harris & called by the
       name of Poplar farm & running from the said Tree north north
       west one hundred & fifty P.s from thence with a line Drawn
       East North East one hundred & twenty P.s & ^then with a line drawn from the end of the East North East line South South East one hundred & fifty Perches and^ from thence with
       a line Drawn to the aforementioned Poplar tree standing on
