332) July 25.th 1747 Then Came before Us Two of his Lordships Justices of the peace for Baltimore County the within mentioned Edw.d Choat and Acknowledged the within Deed and the Land & Premisses therein mentioned to be the Right and Estate of D.r Charles Carroll his Heirs and Assigns forever and Elinor the wife of the said Edward Choat Acknowledged the same Deed and being privatly Examined apart from her said Husband Declared she did the same freely and Voluntarily without his Compulsion or fear of his Displeasure according to the Act in that Case made and Provided W Hammond Sam.l Owings Received of D.r Charles Carroll Twenty pounds Sterling being the Consideration within mentioned this 25.th Day of July 1747 his Witness Ed.d E Choat R Croxall mark Patrick Gray July 30.th 1747 Received of D.r Charles Carroll four Shill.s 5 sides Ster an Alienation fine on the within Land for Use ^of^ the Lord Propry Benj.a Tasker Recorded July 30.th 1747 Ex.d This Indenture made this 28.th Day of July in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven Hundred forty and seven Between Mayberry Helms of Baltimore County Carpenter and Ann his wife late the Widow of William Ponteny Deceased on the One part and Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis in Ann Arundel County Chyrurgeon of the other part Witnesseth that the said Mayberry Helms and Ann his wife for and in Consideration of the sum of Ten Pounds Current money of Maryland to them in hand paid by the said Charles Carroll the Receipt whereof they do hereby Acknowledge and thereof and therefrom do Acquit and Discharge him the said Charles Carroll Hath Given Granted Bargained Sold Released and Confirmed unto him the said Charles Carroll his heirs and Assigns (Forever) |
