             April twenty Second One thousand Seven hundred and forty
       Seven then was the within Deed Acknowledged according to the direction
       of the Act of Assembly before me one of the Justices of the Provincial Court
       of Maryland                                                            John Darnall

       22.d April 1747 Received Seventeen Shillings and One pence Sterling
       for the ^Use of the^ Right Honourable the Lord Baltimore being for the Alienation
       fine of the within Lands

Ex.d      Maryland fs This Indenture made the 12.th day of
       of April in the Year of our Lord One thousand Seven hundred and forty
       Seven Between Thomas Boarman Mudd of Charles County in the
       Province of Maryland Planter of the One part and James Mudd of the
       County and Province af.d Planter of the Other part Witnesseth that the s.d
       Thomas Boarman Mudd for and in Consideration of the sum of five
       Pounds Sterling to him in hand paid by the said James Mudd the Rec.t
       whereof the said Thomas doth hereby Acknowledge and for Other good
       Causes and Considerations him hereunto moving he hath hereby Granted
       Bargained and Sold Aliened Enfeoffed and Confirmed and by these Psents
       doth Grant Bargain and Sell Alien Enfeoffe and Confirme unto the said
       James Mudd all that Tract and Parcel of Land called Brierwood
       Containing Six hundred and fifty Acres lying in Charles County af.d
       and ot his Heirs and Assigns and also the Reversion and Reversions
       Remainder and Remainders and all the Estate Title Interest
       Claim and Demand of him the said Thomas of in and to the same and
       all and Singular the Appurtenances To have & ^to^ hold the said Land
       and all and Singular the Tenements and Appurtenances thereto
       belonging unto the said James Mudd his Heirs and Assigns to the
       Only Proper Use and behoof of the said James Mudd his Heirs
       and Assigns for and During the Term of one whole Year from this
       Date and the said Thomas Boarman Mudd for him and his Heirs
       the said Land and Tenements and Appurtenances and every part
       thereof against him and his Heirs and against all and every Other
