Ex.d            This Indenture Made this Twenty third
       Day of April in Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred &
       Fourty Six Between Charles Carroll of the City of Annapolis
       in Annarrundel County in the Province of Maryland Gentleman
       of the One Part & Philip Jones Jun.r of Baltimore County in
       Province af.d Planter of the other Part Witnesseth Whereas
       Charles Carroll Esq.r late of the City & County ^of^ Ann Arrundell
       Aforesaid Deceased by his last Will & Testament in Writing bearing
       Date the first Day of December seventeen Hundred & Eighteen
       Among other things therein Contained Bequeathed all his Lands
       in Baltimore County to his Sons Charles & Daniel as Also all
       his Mortgages as by the said Will duly Proved & Recorded may app.r
       And the said Daniel Carroll by his last Will & Testament
       in Writing bearing Date y.e Twelfth of April Seventeen Hundred
       And thirty four Did Will & Authorize Charles Carroll party
       to this Deed to Sell all his Lands which should not in any one
       Tract Exceed five Hundred Acres as by the said Will duly
       Proved & Recorded may Appear Now this Indenture
       Witnesseth that the said Charles Carroll for and in Consideration
       of Five Pounds sterling to him in hand paid the
       Receipt whereof is hereby Acknowledged and thereof doth hereby
       Acquit and Discharge the said Philip Jones his Heirs Ex.rs
       and Administrators by these presence Hath Given Granted
       Bargained Sold Alien'd Enfeoffed and Confirmed unto him the
       said Philip Jones his Heirs and Assigns One Lott of Land
       lying & being in Baltimore Town in Baltimore County af.d
       Commonly known & Distinguished by the Number ^of^ Fifty Eight
       Together with all the Rights Proffits Benefit Priviledges
       & Appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise Appertaining
       To Have & ^to^ Hold the aforesaid Lott of Land w.th
       the Premisses and Appurtenances thereunto belong or any wise
       Appertaining unto the said Philip Jones his Heirs & Assigns
       for ever to his & their only Proper use and behoof
