       Grant or Patent Together with the Rights members & Appurtenances
       thereof unto the Said Stephen Hall & Henry Darrall to their
       only Proper Use & behoof forever more

                               And the Said William Thornton doth avouch himself
       at the Time of the Ensealing & untill the delivery hereof to be the True
       Sole & Lawfull Owner of the Said Granted Premisses & that he hath
       in himself full power good Right & Lawfull Authority
       to Grant Sell & Convey the Same in Manner as aforesaid Free from
       all Incumbrances whatsoever (Excepting as afore Reserved) and the
       Said William Thornton for him Self his heirs Executors & Admors
       Doth hereby Covenant Promise & Agree from Time to Time
       and at all Times for ever hereafter to Warrant & defend the Said Mannor
       Lands & Premisses unto the Said Stephen Hall & Henry Darrall
       their heirs & Assigns forever against the Lawfull Claims and
       demands of all & every Person or Persons Whomsoever Provided
       allways & upon Condition Nevertheless That if the Said W.m
       Thornton his Executors & Admors shall & doe well & Truely
       pay or Cause to be paid the sum of four hundred & Twenty Eight
       pounds Elleven Shillings & Six Sterling by Bills of Exchange
       to M.r David Arnold Merchant in Calvert County in the Province
       of Maryland at Thirty Days Sight & Intrest for the Same in Case
       of nonpayment And on the Receiving the Said Bills of Exchange
       to the Satisfactions of the Said David Arnold
                                              Then this Present Deed of Mortgage and
       every Grant Clause & Article therein Contained to Cease
       determine be Void and of None effect But in default thereof to
       abide & remain in full force Power & Virtue In Witness whereof
       the Parties to these Present Indentures have hereunto
       Interchangeably Set their hands & Seals the Day & Year first
       above Written                                 W.m Thornton   Seal
