       Higdon Parties to the within Deed before me the Subscriber one of his Lordships
       Justices of the Provincial Court and acknowledged the within
       instrument to be their Acts and Deeds & the Land and Premisses therein
       mentioned to be the Right of Anthony Simms his Heirs & Assignes
       for Ever & at the same time Came Mary the Wife of Marmaduke Sims
       Verlinda the Wife of Elexius Simms & Elizabeth the Wife of Fidelimus
       Simms who being by me privately Examined out of the hearing of
       their said Husbands declared that they did freely acknowledge their
       Right of Dower to the within mentioned Lands unto him the said
       Anthony Simms And that they did the Same willingly & freely
       without being induced thereto by fear or threats of or ill usage by their
       said Husbands or fear of their Displeasure Taken & acknowledged
       before & Certifyed by                                 Geo Dent
                Rec.d the Sum of Sixteen Shillings Sterling for his Lordships use
       being the Alienation fyne for the Land within mentioned

 x.d  This Indenture made the Seventh Day of August Seventeen hundred
       & thirty Eight Between Anthony Simms of Saint Marys County
       in the Province of Maryland in America Carpenter & Planter of the
       one Part & Georges Forbes of the same Co.ty Merch.t of the other Part
       Witnesseth that the said Anthony for & in Consideration of Fifty pounds
       Sterling Money of Great Britain & five thousand Pounds of Tobacco
       to him in hand paid The Receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge
       & therefrom Exonerate acquit & discharge the said George Forbes his
       Heirs Exec.rs & Adm.rs by these Presents Hath given granted aliened bargained
       sold Enfeoffed conveyed and Confirmed and by these Presents the said
       Anthony for himself his Heirs Ex.rs & Adm.rs doth give grant bargain
       sell enfeoffe Convey & Confirm unto the said George Forbes his Heirs &
       Assignes for Ever All that Tract or Parcell of Land lying in Cecil County
       in the Province of Maryland af.d on the East Side of River Called Elk
       River Which Tract of Land was Originally to wit in the year of
