       July 12.th Anno Domini 1738 Maryland fs:  Then Came before me the
       Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court Cap.t John
       Carpenter one of the Evidences Subscribing the within Power of Attorney
       who made Oath on the Holy Evangelists of Almighty God that he saw the
       within mentioned John Taillor of London Merchant Sign & Seal & Deliver
       the Within Power of Attorney as his Act & Deed to the Uses intents and
       Purposes therein mentioned Sworn to the Day & Year af.d before me

       the Evidences Subscribing the within Power of Attorney who made oath

x.d  This Indenture made the Twenty first Day of July one thousand seven
       hundred thirty & Eight Between Marmaduke Simms whose Sister
       Mary Simms of the whole Blood died without Issue being the
       Daughter of Anthony Simms Sen.r deceast Electious & Fidelimus
       Simms Sons of the said Anthony Simms deceast & Bathia Higdon
       Widdow Daughter of the said Anthony Simms Sen.r deceast all of the
       s.d Partys being of Charles Co.ty in the Province of Maryland Planters
       of y.e one Part & Anthony Simms of Saint Marys County in the
       Province afores.d Carpenter & Planter of y.e other Part Witnesseth that
       the said Marmaduke Electious & Fidelimus Simms & Bathia
       Higdon as well for & in Consideration of the Sum of Ten thousand
       Pounds of Tobacco to them in hand paid by the said Anthony Simms
