       will warrant and for ever Defend by these Presents Provided
       always and it is agreed By and Bet^w^een the said Parties
       to these Presents that if the said ^John^ Godsgrace his heirs or Assigns
       do and shall well and truly Pay or cause to be paid unto the s.d
       John Wardrop his Administrators and ^or^ Assigns the full sum of
       two hundred Pounds sterling money aforesaid with Lawfull
       Interest at or upon the nineteenth Day of November which
       shall be the year of our Lord God seventeen hundred and forty
       four from the Day of the Date of these Presents for and during
       the not payment thereof thereof without any Deduction or
       Defalcation thereof for Taxes or other Imposition whatsoever
       and without the said John Wardrope his being Obliged to Pay
       any alienation Fine or Fines or of Paying or of Paying or of
       Paying ^any^ Quit Rents to the Chief Lord of the Soil that then and
       from thence forth these Presents and every thing ^herein^ contained shall
       cease and be Void any thing herein contained to the contrary
       notwithstanding And the said John Godsgrace for himself
       his heirs and Assigns doth covenant and Grant to and with
       the said John Wardrop his Executors Administrators and
       Assigns by these Presents in manner and form following
       That is to say that he the said John Godsgrace is the sole true
       and Lawfull owner of the said Tract of Land Except as before
       Excepted and five Negroes aforesaid and Premises hereby
       Demised with their and Every of their appurtenances and
       is Lawfully Rightfully and absolutely Seized thereof and
       of every Part and Parcel thereof of a Good sure Estate of
       Inheritance in fee simple without any manner of Condition
       or Limitation whatsoever and hath Good Right absolute
       Power and authority to Bargain and sell the said Land
       and Negroes Except as before Excepted and Premises
       with their appurtenances unto the said John Wardrop
       his Executors Administrators and Assigns in manner and
