145 The aforesaid Land and Premisses with the appurtenances & the aforesaid Negro Man Called Tom to him the said Joseph Cowman his Heirs Executors Administrators and Assigns against all and every Person and Persons whatsoever shall and will Warrant and forever Defend by these Presents In Witness Whereof the said Richard Briant hath hereunto set his hand and affixed the Day and year first above Written Signed Sealed & Delivered Richard Briant seal In the Presence of Robert Gordon Received the Day and year within Mentioned of the within Named Joseph Cowman the within Mentioned Sum of Forty one Pounds Eight Shillings & three pence Sterling 43 8 3 being the Consideration mentioned in the within Indenture I Say Received P.r me Richard Briant Test Robert Gordon July y.e 2.d 1740 Then Came before the Subscriber one of his Lordships Justices of the Provincial Court the within Named Richard Briant Party to the within Presents and Acknowledged the Same to be his Act & Deed & the Land and Premisses & Negroe therein mentioned to be the Estate Property Right & Title of the within named Joseph Cowman his Heirs Ex.rs Adm.rs and assigns forever according to the Directions of the Act of Assembly in Such Cases made & Provided Recorded July the 2.d 1740 Robert Gordon Ex.d This Indenture Made this Eighteenth Day of April in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred & forty between Charles Sewall of Saint Marys County Esquire son and Heir and Surviving Executor of the last will & Testament of Nicholas Sewall late of Saint Marys County Esq.r Deceased of the one Part and Daniel Dulany of Annapolis Esquire of the Other Part witnesseth that the said Charles Sewall for and in Consideration of the Sum of three hundred Pounds Sterling to him in hand Paid by the said Daniel |
