143 Reced of M.r Bedingfield Hands for the use of the Right Honourable the Lord Proprietary twenty Shillings Sterling for the Ali^e^nation Fine of the within Mentioned Tullys Delight & also three Shillings and Six pence for one hundred & Seventy five acres Part of Macklinborough 11 1/2 I Say Reced this 8 May 1740 Recorded June the 11.th 1740 Benj.a Tasker Ex.d This Indenture Made the Second day of July in the year of Lord One Thousand Seven hundred & forty between Richard Briant of Ann Arundell County in the Province of Maryland Planter of the One Part and Joseph Cowman of the Same County and Province Gentleman of the Other Part Witnesseth that the Said Richard Briant for and in Consideration of the Sum of Forty one Pounds Eight Shillings and three pence Sterling to him in hand Paid by the Said Joseph Cowman at or before the Sealing and Delivery of these Presents the Receipt whereof he doth hereby Acknowledged hath Granted Bargained Sold Aliened Enffeoffed and Confirmed and by these Presents the Said Richard Briant Doth grant Bargain Sell Aliene Enfeoffed and Confirme unto him the Said Joseph Cowman his Heirs and Assigns forever All that tract or Parcell of Land liying of the West Side of a River Called Road River in Ann Arundell County In the Said Province of Maryland Begining at a Bounded White Oak Standing in a Branch of the Said River and runing South One hundred & four Perches to a Bounded Hickory by a Draft faling into the Said Branch the West One hundred & fifty four Perches to a Bounded white Oak by a branch Side the North one hundred & four Perches to a Bounded white Oak in the fork of a Small Branch then with a Streight Line to the first tree Containing one hundred Acres of Land be the Same More or less it being Part of a Parcell or Tract of Land formerly Granted unto John Miles of the aforesaid County and Province |
