60  Ex.d This Indenture made this twentieth day of January in
          the year of Our Lord God One thousand seven hundred and
          twenty four Between John Tod of Baltemore County
          planter of the one part and John Browne of Ann.dll County
          planter of the other part Wittnesseth that whereas William
          Vines of Baltemore County af.d by patent bearing date the
          tenth day of October 1707 had granted unto him a Tract of
          land called or knowne by the name of Vines Chance scituate lying
          and being in Baltemore County af.d above Elkridge on the
          branches of Petuxon River in woods Beginning at a bounded
          white Oake a Black Oake and poplar standing by a runn called
          Ridgleys Runn and on the south side of the said Runn and runn
          thence south west and by south thirty six perches to a bounded
          black Oake then south south east two hundred perches then
          South East and by east two hundred and ten perches then
          North East and by North seventy four perches to the af.d
          runn then with a straight line to the first tree Containing
          and laid out for two hundred acres of Land more or less And
          whereas the s.d William Vines for and in Consideration of the
          sum of seven thousand weight of Tobacco to him in hand paid by
          the said John Todd Did assigne transferr and sell over the said
          premisses to him the s.d John Todd his heires and assigns for ever
          as by the said Conveyance retation being thereto had more
          fully it Doth and may appear Now This Indenture Witnesseth
          that the said John Todd for and in consideration of the sum of
          twenty nine pounds current money to him in hand paid or
          secured to be paid by the said John Browne the receipt
          whereof he Doth hereby acknowledge and thereof Doth acquite
          Exon^e^rate and Discharge the said John Browne his heirs and
          assigns for ever To have and To hold the said Tract of Land to
          him the said John Brown his heires and assigns for ever to the
          only proper use and behoofe of him the said John Browne
          his heires and assigns for ever and the said John Todd for himself his
          Extors Adm.rs and assigns doth hereby Covenant that he the said
          John Todd at the time of the ^En^sealing and Delivery hereof
          hath in himself full power lawfull and absolute authority to grant
          bargaine sell aline Enfeoff and Confirme the said Premisses
          to him the said John Browne his heires and assignes for ever
          af.d And that the said John Todd his heires and assignes
          shall and will warrant And for ever Defend the sd
