(270) x.d  This Indenture made the first day of Aprill Anno
                Domini seventeen hundred and Twenty Eight Between
                Stephen Gill of Baltemore County Planter of the one part
                and Charles Carroll of Annapolis Chyrgeon of the other
                part Witnesseth that the said Stephen for and in
                Consideration of Eighty Eight pounds sterling to him
                in hand paid by the said Charles Carroll his Executors
                and administrators thereof and therefrom doth fully acquit
                Release and Discharge Hath bargained sold & Confirmed
                and by these presents Doth bargain sell and Confirm unto
                the said Charles Carroll All that Tract or parcell of Land
                Called Howards Chance Containing Two Hundred Acres
                being in Baltemore County formerly Granted to John
                Howard late of the same County deceased in usual
                Manner and Devised by the said John Howard to
                Benjamin Howard and Orlando Griffith in Fee
                Simple that is to say the Lowermost Moyety thereof
                to the said Benjamin Howard and the uppermost Moyety
                Howard and Orlando Griffith and by the said Benjamin
                Howard and Orlando Griffith by severall Deeds of
                Bargain and Sale duly Executed and Recorded amongst
                Baltemore County Land Records sold and Conveyed
                To John Gill Brother of the said Stephen Gill of
                the whole Blood by vertue of which Deeds the said
                John Gill became seised of the said Tract of Land in
                his Demesne as of fee and thereof died so seised
                Leaving Issue Stephen Gill his only Child and heir
                at Law after whose Death the said Stephen Gill became
                seised of the said Tract of Land in his Demesne
                as of fee & so thereof Died seised Intestate & without
                Issue or heir Except the said Stephen Gill his Unkle
                party to these presents by Reason whereof the said
                Stephen became Intitled to the said Land by Discent
                and is thereof seised in his Demesne as of Fee which
                Tract of Land is Butted and Bounded as followeth
                Beginning at a Bounded White Oak by a Marsh
                and Running by a Lyne drawn North and by East
                                                                         (One)
