(23) The afs.d Five hundred acres
of Land & premises ag.t them the said Gerard Slye & Mary his Wife their heirs & assigns as also against all manner of parsons for ever hereafter to warrant and defend as for forth as the said Charles father of Charles party to the presents is or stands ingadged by his Deed to Warrant and Defend to the said Gerard Slye And further the said Gerard Slye doth for himself his heirs Ex.rs and Adm.rs Covenant promise grant and agree to & with the said Charles Carroll that he y.e said Gerard Slye and his heirs shall & will at y.e cost and Charge in the Law of the said Charles his heirs & assignes Doe make acknowledge suffer & Execute any further Deed or Instruments in writting such as the s.d Charles his heirs & assignes shall reasonable devise or advise for the further and better assurance surecy and overemaikeing the Lands & premisses afs.d unto him the said Charles his heirs & assigns for ever in as full and ample manner as the same was conveyed to the said Gerard his heires and Assignes by the said Charles y.e father as afs.d and Wittness whereof the partys to these presents have Interchangeably set their hand & affixed there seale the day and year first above above Written siged sealed & Delivered Gerard Slye Seal in the Presentce of us John Bennet Jam.s Carroll Robert Cyter On the back of which Deed was then Endorst viz.r Then Came Gerard lye within mentioned before me Samuel Young Esq.r Cheif Justice of the provincial Court and acknowledged within Deed according to Law Sam.l Young May the 28.th 1724 The reccod by me Gerard Slye within mentioned of Charles Carroll within mentioned Two hundred pounds sterling the Consideration money within specifyed I say reced by me Test Thom.s Clarka Gerard Slye James Carroll Recorded July the 15 1724 |
