Nov.b 1725 sides 9 Recorded Jan.ry the 16 1725 William Lock This Indenture made the second day of February One Thousand Seven hundred Twenty and five (six) Between John Dew William Hitchinson Rachell Hitchinson of Calvert County Ann Dew of Prince Georges County of the one part and Samuell Griffith Junio.r of Calvert County of the other part Witnesseth That for an in Consideracon of Four Thousand Two hundred pounds of tobacco instant paid hath given Granted Bargaind sold and set over and by these psents Do Give Grant Bargain and sell and set over unto him the said Samuel Griffith Jun.r All that Tract of Land in Baltemore County on Rumly Creek Called Leafe [illegible] containing two hundred fifty and five acres of Land Together with all pfitts and advantages therewith belonging To have and To hold the said lands and Tenements with all its appurtenances and every part and parcell thereof unto him the s.d Samuel Griffith Jun.r his heirs & Executors for ever in maner and form as afd And that every part and parcell thereof with all the appurtenances thereunto belonging shall from henceforth and for ever remain and continue unto him the said Samuell Griffith Jun.r his heirs & Exec.rs for every freely and clearly acquitted and discharged of and from all maner of formour or other bargains sales Gifts Grants Dowers Jointures Lesses Rents or Arrearages of Rents the Rent and services henceforth growing due to the Lord of the Mannor Excepted and foreprised and of and four all maner of Incumbrances or Charges whatsoever And the said John Dew William Hitchinson Rachell Hitchinson and Ann Dew doth for themselves their heirs and Executors further Covenant Grant to and Agree to and will y.e the said Samuell Griffith his heirs and Executors and Every of them that they the aforesaid John Dew William Hitchinson Rachell Hitchinson and Ann Dew their heirs and Exec.rs Male and will for ever warrant and defend the said lands and every part of the same from all and every person & persons claiming by from or under them the said ^John^ Dew William Hitchinson Rachell Hitchinson and Ann Dew their heirs or Executors They the said John Dew William Hitchinson Rachell Hitchinson and Ann Dew doth for themselves their heirs & Exec.rs Covenant promous promous and grant and agree to and with the said Samuell Griffith his heirs & Exec.rs that tha the said John Dew William Hitchinson Rachell Hitchinson and Ann Dew their heirs and Exec.rs and every of them shall and will at all times hereafter as often as need shall be thereunto required Dow make acknowledge suffer and Execute or Cause to be made done acknowledged suffered and Executed all and every other Act or Acts thing or things assurances and conveyances in the law as by the said Samuell Griffith his heirs or Exec.rs or his or their counsell Learned in the Law shall be from time to time shall be reasonably devised for the [illegible] and better assurance and suremakeing of all and singular the premisses hereby bargained and sold or intended to be bargind and sold And Lastly the said John Dew William Hitchinson Rachell Hitchinson and Ann Dew for themselves their heirs and Executors In Testimony whereof we have here unto set to our hands and affixed our seals the day and year above wrighton Sighned sealled and dillvered John Dew seal In the presents of William Hitchinson seal Jn.o Mackall Her Thomas Tomlinson Rachell R Hitchinson seal On the aforegoing deed was thus Endorst (viz) mark seal Memorand.m February the 2.d 1725/6 Then came John Dew and William Hitchinson and acknowledged the within Lands and pmises according to Act of Assembly And at the same time came Rachell Hitchinson the wife of the said William Hitchinson who being privately Examined out of the hearing of her said Husband did confess that she freely made overtur right of the said Land without any fear of her husbands displeasure witness my hand the day and year first above written 6 1/2 sides Recorded 15.th March 1725/6 Jn.o Mackall |
