Whereas, The Mayor and City Council of Gaithersburg have received
a Petition consenting to the proposed enlargement of the corporate bound-
aries of the City of Gaithersburg, so as to include an area encompassing
37 acres of land located to the northwest of the present corporate bound-
aries and adjacent thereto and extending along Cloppers Road.

Whereas, the signatures of the said Petition of Consent have been
verified and it has been ascertained that the persons signing said Petition
are owners of not less than twenty-five percentum (25%) of the assessed
valuation of the real property located in the area to be annexed and
represent at least twenty-five percentum (25%) of the persons who reside
in the area to be annexed and who are registered as voters in County
elections.

Whereas, from the provisions of Section 19(b), of Article 23(a), of
the Annotated Code of Maryland, 1957 Edition, as amended, it is manda-
tory that the following Resolution be introduced.

Section 1. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and City Council of
Gaithersburg, that a new section to the Charter of the City of Gaithers-
burg, be added. Said new section to be known as Section dd to follow
immediately after Section cc thereof, to provide for the enlargement of
the corporate boundaries of the City of Gaithersburg, by including the
following area, which is added to the City of Gaithersburg:

Being part of a tract of land known as "Echo Dale," "Goodport," etc.,
it being also a part of Lot 1 as shown on Plat of the division of lands of
Douglas Clopper and recorded among the Will Records of Montgomery
County, Maryland in Liber R.W.C. 12 at Folio 388, being in the Gaithers-
burg Election District.

Beginning for the same at the intersection of the east line of the
aforementioned Lot 1 with the north line of Maryland Route #117 (40'
wide) as now located and running with the north line of Maryland Route
#117 the following two courses

1.  239.16 feet along the arc of a curve to the right with a radius of
1663.95 feet, chord N 74 d. 30' 15" W 238.95 feet; thence

2.  N 70 d. 23' 12" W 42.38 feet to the southeast corner of the C. & M.
Gloyd tract as recorded in Liber 2406 at Folio 91 among the Land Records
of Montgomery County, Maryland; thence leaving said north line of Route
#117 and running with the east line of the Gloyd tract the following
three courses

3.  N 13 d. 22' 45" E 496.18 feet; thence

4.  N 6 d. 00'05" W419.93 feet; thence

5.  N 10 d. 02' 35" W 359.43 feet to a pipe found at the southeast
corner of the John William Garrett property as recorded in Liber 358
at Folio 172 among the said Land Records; thence with the east line of the
Garrett property the following two courses

6.  N 10 d. 02' 35" W 58.63 feet to a pipe found, thence

7.  N 34 d.—27' 25" E 43.43 feet to a pipe found at the northeast
corner of said Garrett property; thence with the east line of the Mary R.
Dyer lot as recorded in Liber J.A. 19 at F
