the professional, staff and other employees shall be set by the Board
and shall in no way be subject to the control or jurisdiction of the
Standard Salary Board. THE BOARD SHALL HAVE SUCH FUNDS
FOR ITS OPERATIONS AS MAY BE PROVIDED IN THE
BUDGET.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.

(House Bill 964)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 168 (d)
of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Re-
placement Volume and 1966 Supplement), title "Insurance Code,"
subtitle "Insurers: Authorization and General Requirements," to
remove the bond penalty provisions relating to licenses issued to
partnerships or corporations, and to provide if a partnership
or corporation is primarily engaged in the insurance business,
it may be issued an agents or brokers license and may be certified
as a licensee.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 168(d) of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume and 1966 Supplement), title "In-
surance Code," subtitle "Insurers: Authorization and General Re-
quirements," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
168.
(d) Licensees may conduct their insurance business affairs as
a partnership or corporation provided [that such partnership or
corporation is licensed as an agent or broker, is primarily engaged
in the business of selling insurance and shall file with the Com-
missioner a bond to the State of Maryland in the penalty of twenty-
five thousand dollars ($25,000); and provided further] that every
individual who solicits, negotiates, or accepts insurance business
from the public shall be qualified and licensed for the kinds of
insurance business he does with the public.
If a partnership or corporation is primarily engaged in the in-
surance business, [Any] any such partnership or corporation
agency may be issued appropriate agent or broker licenses and may
be certified as a licensee under this subtitle to the supervisory of-
ficials of any state.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1967.
