ways, to introduce a bill declaratory of the powers of the
President and Managers of the Woodsborough and Frederick
Turnpike Road Company, and to repeal a part of the 18th
section of the act of 1853, chapter 304.

On motion of Mr. Hanway,

Leave was granted to the committee on Corporations, to
bring in a bill to incorporate the Bel-Air and Hickory Turn-
pike Road Company, in Harford county.

The Speaker laid before the House the report of the Balti-
more and Harford Turnpike Company;

Which was referred to the committee on Roads and High-
ways; also,

The report of the School Commissioners of Queen Anne's
county; also,

The report of the Church Hill Academy, of Queen Anne's
county;

Which were severally referred to the committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Harrington, from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported unfavorably on the bill entitled, an act to incorporate
the Mechanics' Insurance Company, of the city of Baltimore.

Also, reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to amend
an act entitled, an act to incorporate the Maryland Institute,
for the promotion of the Mechanics' Arts, passed December
session, 1849, chapter 114 ;

Which was read the first time.

Mr. Alexander, from the committee on Judiciary, reported
unfavorably on a bill entitled, an act to amend the act passed
at January session, 1852, chapter 182, entitled, an act to in-
corporate the town of Sharpsburg and Miller's addition to
Sharpsburg, and also, the act passed at January session 1853,
chapter 342, amendatory of said act to provide more effectual
punishment for the violation of the ordinances of said town ;

Mr. Harrington, from the committee on Corporations, re-
ported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incorporate the
New Cut Turnpike Company ;

Which was read the first time.

Also, reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act to incor-
porate the Old Road Turnpike Company, in Baltimore county;

Which was read the first time,

Also, reported favorably on a bill entitled, an act relating to
Foreign Corporations and their Agencies ;

Also, reported favorably upon a bill entitled, a further sup-
